Austin Rings a Bell to Retain
NAVASOTA, TX - In a three-way match-up, there are no disqualifications, something “OUTLAW” J. AUSTIN used to his advantage to retain the Lions Pride Sports Championship.
It was almost JAY ALEXANDER’S title, though. In an hard-hitting opener to our No Love event, “The Purveyor of Punishment” ultimately hit his Deal Breaker on rival ZANE VALERO with a clear ring. It looked like Alexander would be crowned with the title. Instead, he was crowned with a cow bell shot from a quick-reacting Austin. Alexander was knocked out of the ring by the strike, leaving a still-reeling Valero to be pinned.
After the match, Austin proudly and loudly declared Valero’s dreams of winning gold in The Pride would never become reality. With another successful defense, who will be able to achieve those dreams at the expense of “Outlaw?”
In other action at No Love:
There were disqualifications in MATHAYUS’S defense of the Lions Den Championship against the returning DRAKE DURDEN, who had been sidelined by a vicious assault to his knee by the champ a month earlier. In his quest for gold and revenge, Durden would initially get none, as “The God of Fire” once again got DQ’ed and retained through the champion’s advantage. SHIMBASHI, still scheduled to compete against MIKE DELL in a rematch from our previous event, emerged to help Mathayus and manager DEVON DEVILLE. That’s when Dell hit the ring to stop the assault and lay out a tag team challenge. In what became the main event of the night, Durden and Dell worked well together, ultimately hitting a chokeslam and Dellbow respectively on Shimbashi to score a win.
The MIA FRIDAY-MJ SANTANA rivalry had each wrestler bringing back-up and Pride newcomers to Navasota. In a furious tag team match, Friday and GIGI REY would ultimately earn the win, with Rey clearing VERT VIXEN for Friday to hit Santana with an M.I.A.
For a second consecutive event, CHAVY CHULO faced off with a veteran debuting in The Pride. A physical bout with PRINCE ADAM could have gone either way, but Chulo’s bulldog finished off Adam.
THE MOUNTAIN and Onslaught’s HOSTAGE HIRSCH and TRENT MERCER earned a six-man tag match win over Onslaught’s rivals, The Bad Boys of Wrestling. KOOL DADDI DENZELL, KEMONTE ROSS and RODZILLA weren’t able to overcome, with a Mountainous splash ending the contest.
