Valero's Wild Night Ends Without a Title

COLLEGE STATION, TX - ZANE VALERO earned the biggest win of his young career. He had a chance to top that moment later in the night, but had his Lions Pride Sports Championship opportunity ended in unfortunate fashion.

The second Aggieland Rumble match opened the final Lions Pride Sports event of 2021, with 20 competitors entered in the contest. Valero and the returning JAY ALEXANDER had the unlucky draws to start the match, with wrestlers entering every two minutes thereafter. Somehow, the two men who started the match were the last wrestlers left. Alexander ended up with the most eliminations in the match, but it was “Gen Z” persevering through an apparent shoulder injury, knocking “The Purveyor of Punishment” to the floor after a battle on the apron to win the second Aggieland Rumble match.

The prize for winning the 45-minute match: a shot at the title of Valero’s choosing in the night’s main event. Zane would choose to go for the biggest prize in The Pride held by “OUTLAW” J. AUSTIN. The champion and challenger battered and bruised each other, with Austin taking advantage of his tired and wounded opponent, but Valero showing his trademark tenacity.

However, it would be an enraged Alexander who would ultimately decide things, returning to the ring with the referee knocked down to attack Valero, allowing “Outlaw” to get the pinfall once the official was able to get back to the action.

Following the match, Valero and Alexander exchanged words and strikes, with a match between the two set for Friday, January 7’s Winter Warfare event in College Station.

In other Aggieland Rumble event action:

  • NOBE BRYANT’S elimination from the Rumble match was unconventional, as was the competitor he eliminated just prior. DEVON DEVILLE, the new manager of Lions Den Champion MATHAYUS, was entered into the match, seemingly without his knowledge. Bryant would eventually be the one to toss out the frightened DeVille, but Mathayus would enter the ring to square off with “The Real Deal.” Despite not being in the Rumble, the newly-christened “God of Fire” would be the one to throw Bryant out. Following the opening contest, Bryant would return to challenge Mathayus to a non-title match later in the night, one the champ accepted. That evenly-matched contest would be titled by interference and distractions by DeVille and eventually won with a roll-up by Mathayus.

  • Both SHIMBASHI and MJ SANTANA failed in their Rumble match opportunities, and the two chose to return to the ring to vent their frustrations afterwards. A mention of MIA FRIDAY brought Santana’s rival out to the ring, only for an eventual beat down of Friday. CHAVY CHULO would emerge to make the save, challenging the couple to a mixed tag team match and vowing to move on to more winning ways in his career. He and Friday were able to make that happen, hitting a bulldog and M.I.A. respectively to pick up the win.
