Nobe Bryant's elimination of Mathayus's manager, Devon DeVille, in the Aggieland Rumble match led Mathayus to get in the ring despite not being a participant in the contest. After an exchange of strikes, Mathayus would eliminate Bryant. With both men furious at each other, they would face off in one-on-one action later that night.

Having defended the Lions Pride Sports Championship in the opening contest of Winter Warfare II, Nobe Bryant was attacked by Jordan Lennox immediately following the match. Lennox was set to face Will Allday in a loser leaves The Pride ladder match, but an Allday injury before the show cancelled it. Lennox insisted he'd never gotten a fair shot at the title, and an angry Bryant agreed to put the belt on the line again. Lions Pride Sports Owner Houston Carson reinstated the ladder match and the loser leaves stipulation. Who would stay as the champion, and who would go forever?

In perhaps his greatest test as Lions Pride Sports Champion, Nobe Bryant defended the title against the debuting former WWE Superstar and wrestling hall of famer Rodney Mack. But the Redd Dogg said he wasn't just coming to The Pride to win its biggest prize. He said he wanted to take over the whole company.

As the new Lions Den Training Facility opened, Chavy Chulo decided he wanted to vent his frustrations with not having a scheduled match at Full Speed Ahead. A second straight open challenge from the hot wrestler was answered by Lions Pride Sports Champion Nobe Bryant. The result was a title match in the first contest of the new era of The Pride.
