Valero Gets Two Up on Alexander; Champions Retain

COLLEGE STATION, TX - Sometimes, wins come through brute strength and force. Sometimes, there’s luck involved in addition to skill. And sometimes, a wrestler outsmarts his opponent.

That third scenario was the case for ZANE VALERO down a fall to JAY ALEXANDER in their two-out-of-three falls Winter Warfare main event. Valero was able to convince the referee that Alexander had hit him with a steel chair out of the official’s view, leading to Zane’s first fall via disqualification. As Jay animatedly pleaded his case, Valero snuck in from behind with a roll up for the deciding fall.

An apoplectic Alexander said following the match that he would be out for revenge against Valero when “The Purveyor of Punishment” returns to Lions Pride Sports February 4 in Navasota. Not only that, Lions Pride Sports Champion “OUTLAW” J. AUSTIN was called out by Alexander, who continues to have big aspirations in The Pride.

The title picture was extremely chaotic at Winter Warfare. In the night’s opener, Lions Den Champion MATHAYUS also utilized a chair to take out and injure the leg of challenger DRAKE DURDEN following their title match in which “The God of War” held on to the gold. Mathayus’s manager DEVON DEVILLE then challenged Austin in a title-for-title match later in the night. In a contest where one man could have easily gained control of both belts, the two champs left with their reigns intact after Deville convinced Mathayus it was in his best interest to be counted out.

  • After losing yet again to the recently-forged friendship of MIA FRIDAY and CHAVY CHULO, SHIMBASHI and MJ SANTANA continued to claim they were The Pride’s power couple. “The Canadian Dragon’s” griping brought out Reality of Wrestling Champion WILL ALLDAY in his long-awaited return. Allday goaded Shimbashi into a one-on-one, which turned into an impromptu ROW Championship match. Shimbashi was impressive in defeat and did leverage interference from Santana into opportunities, but Allday overcame and scored an exciting victory.

  • RODNEY MACK’S underhanded tactics were picked up by his match’s referee, as he was disqualified, giving THE MOUNTAIN a win in their power-packed encounter.

  • The Bad Boys of Wrestling’s numbers advantage was too much for Onslaught, as the trio of KOOL DADDI DENZELL, KEMONTE ROSS and RODZILLA topped the duo of HOSTAGE HIRSCH and TRENT MERCER.
