Valero Holds on in No Holds Barred Match

BRYAN, TX - With the animosity and anger between the two combatants reaching a peak, ZANE VALERO was able to retain the Lions Pride Sports Championship at Lights Out in a No Holds Barred Match against SHIMBASHI.

As expected, it wasn’t just fists and feet being used, as chairs, trash cans, a baseball bat and a golf club were among the items which came into play in this title match. And it wasn’t just the two wrestlers in the match who got involved, as MJ SANTANA provided distractions early and often until late in the match when she was eliminated by Valero. Ultimately, a Death Valley Driver from “Gen-Z” sending “The Canadian Dragon” through four chairs in the ring led to the pin fall win.

After the match, it was announced that Valero and Lions Den Champion CHAVY CHULO will put their titles on the line against each other at our Cruel Summer event July 9, with the winner of the match becoming the undisputed champion of The Pride. It’s happened once before, with NOBE BRYANT holding both of our championships. Will Zane or Chavy leave our next event with double gold?

Earlier in the night, Chulo retained his title in a 2-on-1 match against KOOL DADDI DENZELL and RODZILLA of The Bad Boys of Wrestling. Immediately after winning, a beat down of the champ by the duo ensued, but Bryant ran out to the ring to break up the battle. He then challenged The Bad Boys to a tag team match, which Nobe and Chavy would win.

In other action at Lights Out:

  • HASTUR appears to have influence over MATHAYUS’S manager DEVON DEVILLE. Earlier in June at Clash at Caldwell 4, DeVille look into Hastur’s mask put Devon into a trance of some sort. Two weeks later, Hastur was able to loudly convince DeVille to leave Halftime at HWY 21 in a stumbling stupor. Distracted by the departure of Devon, Mathayus was hit with the Price of Knowledge and pinned by Hastur. DeVille’s whereabouts are unknown as of this article’s publishing.

  • While Santana was unable to help Shimbashi to a title match victory in the night’s main event, she did score yet another win, defeating the upstart TKO JOE.

  • Tower and Charisma picked up another W, as MIKE DELL and DRAKE DURDEN topped Onslaught’s HOSTAGE HIRSCH and TRENT MERCER.

  • LUIS “SPARTAN” RAMIREZ talked a big talk in his return to The Pride, but he couldn’t walk the walk against THE MOUNTAIN, as the 600-pounder splashed his way to a win.

  • Also returning to the promotion were ALEX ARSENAL and MAX “VOLUME” BECKETT, with the former earning the win despite Beckett hitting “Bulletproof” with a low blow before the match.
