Plug Pulled on Pandemonium

BRYAN, TX - DEVON DEVILLE has finally fallen short in his attempt to take over The Pride, with the company’s founder and owner shockingly leading from the front. Plus, Deville has been unceremoniously dumped by the promotion.

HOUSTON CARSON was the mystery fifth wrestler in Team Lions Pride Sports, competing for the first time since Here to Stay 4. Two years later at our sixth anniversary celebration, “The Texas Lion” joined forces with former Lions Pride Sports Champions DRAKE DURDEN, MIA FRIDAY and ZANE VALERO, plus top title contender JAK CALLOWAY with Carson’s company and General Manager MJ SANTANA’S job on the line. In exchange, Deville’s Pandemonium group would have to dissolve with a loss for his group, which was comprised of Devon himself, Pandemonium’s PRINCE LY, plus HOSTAGE HIRSCH, and The 8th Day’s FATHER ODAY and BROTHER TRACEY.

A chaotic ten-person tag match ensued as the main event of Here to Stay 6, with Deville’s team controlling significant portions of the contest and nearly wrestling control of the promotion away from its founder. Devon even looked like he might win the contest himself with a steel chair and a ring surrounded by his teammates and Pandemonium’s SHIMBASHI and MATHAYUS. But the super team led by Carson fought back, with an errant chair shot from Deville to Mathayus not helping matters. Ultimately, Friday hit her M.I.A. to “The Devil Himself” and pinning Pandemonium’s manager, thus mandating the dissolution of the Shimbashi-Mathayus-Ly-Deville foursome.

Another mandate: with the loss, Deville was forced to spend three minutes in the ring with Carson. Devon’s attempts to escape were thwarted by most of the Lions Pride Sports roster which had surrounded the ring. A Carson superkick wasn’t the biggest shot Deville suffered. First, it was Shimbashi, Mathayus and Ly refusing to help him. Then, it was Houston loudly and proudly firing him as the show came to an end.

The origins of Pandemonium ironically began a month after Carson’s previous match. In December 2021, Deville recruited the recently-crowned Lions Den Champion Mathayus, transforming a noble competitor into an intense warrior fueled by malice and Deville’s evil. “The God of Fire’s” loss of the title in April 2022 and subsequent losses forced Deville to reassess matters. He recruited newcomer Ly to the fold and made friends with Shimbashi, who himself has become Lions Den Champion.

By February 2023, the group officially came together, with Shimbashi dumping his girlfriend, Santana, in favor of new partners in in-ring crime. “The Canadian Dragon” eventually achieved the biggest prize in The Pride, defeating Friday in July with help from his teammates. It would be the peak of the group, with losses, an injury to Mathayus, and Carson’s installation of Santana as general manager leading to desperation from Deville and an opportunity for Pride leadership to eliminate Devon and Pandemonium once and for all.

Leading into Here to Stay 6’s main event, though, Shimbashi was able to retain the Lions Pride Sports Championship against his biggest challenge yet: independent wrestling superstar “The Bounty Hunter” BRYAN KEITH who Santana had brought in to put an end to her ex’s reign. Yes, outside interference from his now-former Pandemonium partners helped Shimbashi, as did a referee knocked down for a lengthy period. However, the match itself will be considered by many as another Pride classic, a demonstration of why Keith has heads around the world turning, and a leveling-up for “The Canadian Dragon” as a competitor and a champion.

In other action at Here to Stay 6:

  • A Carcosa Asylum Street Fight kicked off the show, with HASTUR retaining the Lions Den Championship over former champ TRENT MERCER. The two brutalized each other with chairs and a ladder among other plunder. Hastur’s new follower even took a brutal Kill Shot kick from Mercer, only serving to infuriate the champion, who would put “Watchdog” through a makeshift table set-up in the ring and retain.

  • RODZILLA won his grudge match with TKO JOE in an evenly-fought but hard-hitting encounter. Joe had refused to accept the apologies of Rod for what he and his former Bad Boys of Wrestling partners had put TKO through. After scoring the victory, Rodzilla offered his hand once again, and Joe finally put their issues behind them.

  • Rod’s former partners in the Bad Boys, KOOL DADDI DENZELL and THE MOUNTAIN, plus the Platinum Status partner DRE HENDRIXX left Here to Stay 6 is complete tatters. They took out CHAVY CHULO prior to the match, seemingly leaving AX MANSON and AL E. GATOR to go two-on-three with Platinum Status. Instead, CANNONBALL CARMICHAEL would join the elimination tornado tag match. The six men brawled throughout BCS Boxing, and Gator would end up as the only survivor in the contest pinning Dre. Hendrixx stormed out after blame was laid at his feet, but then Denzell continued to pass the buck in Mountain’s direction. The 600-pounder would plant Kool Daddi with a chokeslam, leaving the trio in shambles.
