Trifecta Toppled by Golden Tag Team

BRYAN, TX - The Trifecta rarely falters in tag team action. The Trifecta rarely loses. Both rarities happened at Lights Out.

It wasn’t a scheduled tag match, but it came to fruition after the opening contest at the first Lions Pride Sports show at the Halftime at Hwy 21 venue went haywire. DRAKE DURDEN’S defense of the Lions Pride Sports Championship against The Trifecta’s CADE CARSON ended in a beat down of the champ by Carson and CHAVY CHULO. The champ would be saved by the returning NOBE BRYANT, and the former two-time title-holder would challenge the Trifecta duo to a match.

That main event contest saw both teams work well together, but ended with Carson flying in to attack Durden, but missing and knocking Chulo off the apron. A chokeslam later, and the current and former champions dispatched their rivals. MIKE DELL is scheduled to be at Clash at Caldwell 3, so we’ll see if there’s any fallout from his team’s defeat.

In other action at Lights Out:

  • KOOL DADDI DENZELL scored the biggest win of his career with help from his manager. In another outstanding match-up with MATHAYUS, Denzell would ultimately benefit from the briefest of interferences by LIEUTENANT DAN, allowing Denzell to hit a Kool Kutter and pin “The Headline.” Mathayus would hit a pair of spears on Dan and Denzell. The lieutenant’s heavy from Laredo, BIG BAD SAMSON, was called off before he and Mathayus could collide.

  • KILLA KATE’S return to The Pride was a victorious one, but not without controversy. MIA FRIDAY was able to force Kate to tap, but the referee had been knocked out of the ring. A rake of the eyes by Kate helped the submission savvy grappler to get the W. The crowd would remind Kate about her tap out, so Kate responded with a challenge to Friday for a submission match at Clash at Caldwell 3, with Mia accepted.

  • The new haircut for ZANE VALERO was not enough to end his career-long losing streak, as SHIMBASHI nailed “Gen-Z” with a Collision Course knee to earn the win.

  • As THE MOUNTAIN was handing out swag to the crowd, THE UNKNOWN made his return, berating the popular star, then hitting him with a low blow. HOSTAGE HIRSCH would make the save, only for “OUTLAW” J. AUSTIN to lay Mountain and Hirsch out with a chair.

  • As noted at the end of Lights Out, a major, company-altering announcement will be made at Clash at Caldwell 3, one involving The Lions Den Training Facility.
