And New Times Two

BRYAN, TX - In a night of significant change in Lions Pride Sports, two of the biggest shifts at Here to Stay came with the titles.

MATHAYUS main evented the 4th anniversary show needing to beat his trainer and mentor, Lions Pride Sports Owner HOUSTON CARSON, to become the first Lions Den Champion. A loss by “The Headline” would mean the tournament to crown the champ would be restarted without him. Mathayus’s determination was evident, but the challenge was stiff, as Carson’s first match in two years didn’t disappoint. In the end, Mathayus overcame a barrage of hard-hitting offense to hit a trio of spears and pin Carson, who handed over the title and shared an emotional moment with one of his top home-grown talents.

There’s another new title holder, and it’s with the biggest prize in The Pride. “OUTLAW” J. AUSTIN was finally able to defeat DRAKE DURDEN after two failed attempts to bring home the Lions Pride Sports Championship. Yes, Austin used his trademark cowbell out of the view of a downed official, but Durden was able to kick out when a second referee hit the ring. But a Panhandle Slam was the final nail as “Outlaw” pinned Durden, ending the 141-day reign.

In other Here to Stay action:

  • It was the nightmare scenario for the remaining members of The Trifecta. CHAVY CHULO was kicked out two weeks earlier by MIKE DELL for not meeting Dell’s unrealistic expectations, but that would come back to bite “One Man.” Chulo topped the two-time Lions Pride Sports Champion, getting his post-Trifecta career off to a strong start with strong support from the fans of The Pride.

  • Speaking of support, ZANE VALERO has a ton of it, and now, he has the first win of his Pride career. After more than a year without a victory, Valero defeated CADE CARSON, leaving The Trifecta without at win at Here to Stay and with an uncertain future ahead for its remaining duo.

  • MJ SANTANA was successful in her debut match against MIA FRIDAY thanks to Santana’s boyfriend SHIMBASHI. Interference from the outside was the downfall of Friday as MJ made her proclamation of a victory a reality through underhanded tactics.

  • Shimbashi cemented his alliance with Renegades member KOOL DADDI DENZELL and brought a new ally into the fold. KEMONTE ROSS was being belittled by his partners in their six-man tag team, but ultimately, a victory over THE MOUNTAIN, HOSTAGE HIRSCH and TRENT MERCER led Ross to fully join their ranks.

  • NOBE BRYANT and RODNEY MACK will run it back. The Pride all stars fought hard as expected, but Mack’s use of his chain led to a disqualification. Bryant, the two-time Lions Pride Sports Champion, challenged Mack to a rematch on Friday, November 19 at the Macho Madness show at Savage Brew Labs in Downtown Bryan. Mack accepted.

  • One of the loudest reactions of the night was for the first referee vs. referee match in The Pride. BRIAN ZWAHR earned respect in picking up the win in an entertaining contest with ABRAHAM ODEH, with Abe seemingly dropping his beef and giving Brian dap.
