The King Becomes Champ
BRYAN, TX - “The King of Texas” has dethroned NOBE BRYANT and become the new Lions Pride Sports Champion.
BARRETT BROWN defeated “The Real Deal” at Battle in Bryan 3 in an evenly-contested match between two Lions Pride Sports originals. In a bout filled with counters, Brown was able to kick out of Bryant’s scissor kick, and Nobe got his knees up as Barrett delivered a swanton bomb. In the end, Brown’s running knee got him to a three-count and his first reign as The Pride’s champion. The two competitors showed each other the utmost respect following Barrett’s win.
Remarkably, Bryant’s second reign as champion concluded at 176 days, the exact same length as his first. In fact, both reigns began on a first Saturday in September and concluded on the last Saturday of the following February.
Who will be the first to challenge Barrett as champion, and what’s next for Nobe?
In other action at Battle in Bryan 3:
In their first match as The Trifecta, MIKE DELL, CADE CARSON and CHAVY CHULO were able to get past the two giants of The Pride, each looking for revenge for beat down at Trifecta members’ hands. DRAKE DURDEN was isolated for much of the 3-on-2 match, but finally got a tag in to his partner, THE MOUNTAIN. After gaining the upper hand and closing in on victory, the numbers game ended up being too much. It took two super kicks, a flatliner, a Dellbow, and Chulo holding Durden down for The Mountain to be pinned. The Trifecta’s momentum is undeniable at this point, leaving many concerned about the havoc they could cause.
In a rematch from Friday Night Fight Night earlier in the month, MATHAYUS earned a W over his new rival, “OUTLAW” J. AUSTIN. After Austin used a chair and was disqualified at Fight Night, their rematch was a Texas Street Fight, one which included chairs, kendo sticks and the very cowbell “Outlaw” had used to crack Mathayus’s skull at January’s Surrounded event. Ultimately, a big swing of the bell and a miss by Austin led to a spear from “The Headline” and a win.
After matches against fellow Lions Den trainees who were men, MIA FRIDAY had her first match against a woman, the game DANNI BEE from BOOKER T’S Reality of Wrestling promotion. The back-and-forth fight ended with a roll-up win by Friday, continuing her hot streak.
In another rematch from the previous Friday Night Fight Night, another Reality of Wrestling star, JAY ALEXANDER, got a win back against KOOL DADDI DENZELL in a bout between two uber-athletic competitors.
“The Canadian Dragon” SHIMBASHI made his main show debut, submitting ZANE VALERO after countering “Gen-Z’s” fireman’s carry cutter.
