Chaos in Caldwell Culminates with Mathayus Win
CALDWELL - When TKO JOE said he was wiling to compete with any stipulation to get at MATHAYUS. That stipulation chosen by “The God of Fire” at Warpath proved to be too much for the upstart in his first main event.
Mathayus was on the brink of defeat time after time, except his manager DEVON DEVILLE as the match’s special referee made delayed and slow counts which his client was able to kick out of in time. Having gone through hell physically and emotionally, Joe stood up to DeVille, but took a slap from the official, sending “The Knockout Specialist” back into a Mathayus spear. A quick three-count ended the match.
Immediately after, Mathayus was about to continue the assault with a chair when members of the The Pride’s roster ran out to save Joe just in time. Enraged by what had transpired, Joe proclaimed he would not rest until he got revenge.
In other action at Warpath:
TRENT MERCER is the new number one contender for the Lions Den Championship, as he came out on top of a fast-paced three-way match, ultimately landing his Kill Shot running kick to SECURITY GUY to get a pin. Mercer will eventually face off against SHIMBASHI for the gold. The third wrestler in the match was CHAVY CHULO, who raised Security Guy’s arm after the match only to deliver a beat down. Chulo had lost the Lions Den Championship in July, was not seen again until September’s Friday Night Fight Night, when he lost to Mercer. Have months of frustration and absence affected Chulo’s mindset?
The first in a pair of shocking developments on the night for two of The Pride’s most popular stars involved THE MOUNTAIN. While out for an in-ring interview, The Bad Boys of Wrestling immediately interrupted, mocking the 600-pounder for pandering to the fans and tossing free gifts to the crowd at our shows. KOOL DADDI DENZELL and RODZILLA attacked Mountain, with DRAKE DURDEN coming to rescue. A tag team match was made, with the giants ultimately topping The Bad Boys. Then, in the post-match celebration, The Mountain took out Durden, including with his massive splash. Denzell and Rodzilla congratulated Mountain, but got pushed aside as the big man exited.
PRINCE LY is 2-0 now in The Pride after once again defeated HASTUR. And once again, the win was not a pin fall or submission. Whereas their first match finished with a count out via distraction, Warpath’s rematch ended when, with the referee replacing a turnbuckle cover, Ly armed Hastur with Ly’s jewelry, then intentionally slammed himself into the mat. The official turned around and, believing Hastur had struck Ly, called for a disqualification. Hastur’s frustration was evident as he continues to seek revenge.
“OUTLAW” J. AUSTIN scored a victory in an evenly-fought clash of styles with PAC ORTEGA. The competitors showed respect to each other before and after their match, but immediately after, a video played featuring a person whose face was never shown. In an outdoor setting, he flipped through pictures of the Lions Pride Sports roster, then threw the photos in a fire pit and took a blow torch to them. Who is this mysterious person?
