A Haunting Occasion Brings Disarray
BRYAN, TX - In the final stop before Lions Pride Sports’ fifth anniversary event, Downtown Bryan once again experienced how much bedlam is possible in our promotion.
ZANE VALERO is still holds the biggest prize in The Pride, but it was in part because of events earlier in the evening. PRINCE LY had interfered in the six-man tag team match costing his rival HASTUR, who then returned the favor in the Haunting in Downtown’s main event. A blinding light from a book brought out by Hastur sent Ly reeling and into a Valero power move and pin fall, keeping the Lions Pride Sports Championship in his hands.
SHIMBASHI also retained his title. The submission match for the Lions Den Championship, not unsurprisingly, featured interference from “The Canadian Dragon’s” girlfriend, MJ SANTANA, costing TRENT MERCER another opportunity to win gold.
Santana will have a chance to make the self-proclaimed power couple of The Pride a golden couple, as she, MIA FRIDAY and “OUTLAW” J. AUSTIN are going to our Here to Stay anniversary show with a chance to become Lions Pride Sports Champion. The three-way number one contender’s match at Haunting devolved into complete chaos, forcing Lions Pride Sports Owner HOUSTON CARSON to end the contest. With four wrestlers slated to face off for the title instead of two, the odds are significantly lower for the contenders had only one advanced. Valero’s odds of retaining have also drastically dropped with no champion’s advantage and three opponents.
In other action at Haunting in Downtown:
TKO JOE once again couldn’t get past the cheating ways of MATHAYUS and DEVON DEVILLE, who prevailed in a handicap match with their typical underhanded tactics. This was supposed to be Joe’s last match against Mathayus if he lost, but the duo’s cheating ways weren’t how Carson was willing to let this end. TKO and Mathayus will face off at Here to Stay in a Knockout Match, right up Joe’s alley. Plus, DeVille will be handcuffed to ringside security during the match.
Hastur and THE MOUNTAIN were scheduled for one-on-one action, but the 600-pounder’s Bad Boys of Wrestling brethren, KOOL DADDI DENZELL and RODZILLA, jumped Hastur and forced a disqualification. DRAKE DURDEN and SECURITY GUY hit the ring, bringing about an impromptu six-man match. The aforementioned distraction caused by Prince Ly allowed Mountain to crush Hastur and get The Bad Boys the win.
