Trifecta's Troubles Help Durden Keep His Title
NAVASOTA, TX - MIKE DELL said he didn’t want help from his fellow Trifecta teammates to win the Lions Pride Sports Championship at the Red, White & Bruised event. for a record third time. When CADE CARSON and CHAVY CHULO did come to his aid against DRAKE DURDEN, things did not go well.
It was a tumultuous night for the treacherous trio. Carson and Chulo were in tag team action against THE MOUNTAIN and ZANE VALERO. Each of the four had byes in the Lions Den Championship Invitational Tournament, which began in Navasota. While the duo from The Trifecta would pick up the win, miscommunication between Cade and Chavy caught the attention of Dell, who placed the majority of the blame on Chulo. Dell reiterated his demand that both his proteges not come to ringside for his title match later.
With the referee in the main event accidentally knocked out, Dell hit a One-Timer and a Dellbow onto the champ. No official was there to count the pinfall attempt, so Carson and Chulo came to ring to try to revive the ref, then attacked the defending champion. As Durden was fighting them off, he sent Chulo into the ropes, knocking Dell off the turnbuckle. Having cleared the ring, Drake hit a massive chokeslam on the challenger and retained his belt. The Trifecta bickered to the back as Durden celebrated the continuation of his reign.
