Champs Retain Through Pandemonium's Chaos
BRYAN, TX - MIA FRIDAY is still Lions Pride Sports Champion, retaining the title in Into the Fire’s opening match against a game CHARITY KING. By night’s end, she would have her next challenger for our biggest summer show.
SHIMBASHI scored a victory in the evening’s main event at Carp’s in Bryan, cheating with his Pandemonium cohorts to defeat the now-ex he scorned, MJ SANTANA, and becoming the number one contender for Friday’s gold. Santana came close on multiple occasions to once again earning a shot at the title, only for interference to do her in, including a jaw-dropping spear by MATHAYUS after the official had been knocked out.
Mia would come to the stage to recognize her upcoming opponent at July 8's Cruel Summer event only to be attacked from behind by King, who appears to have been paid by Pandemonium manager DEVON DEVILLE to try and damage the champ. Just when Pandemonium was about to do more harm to Friday, part of the locker room emptied and ran them off.
DeVille had already had quite the night. He and Mathayus topped the Party Train team of DRAKE DURDEN and CANNONBALL CARMICHAEL in tag action.
It wasn’t all roses for Pandemonium, though, as PRINCE LY was unable to win the Lions Den Championship, nor was ZANE VALERO. TRENT MERCER retained the gold. “Watchdog” may not know who’s next to challenge him, but Ly and Valero will battle again. Pandemonium’s Prince declared he could beat Zane blindfolded, a challenge Valero took seriously. That stipulation will be applied to their Cruel Summer match at Smitty K’s in College Station.
In other action at Into the Fire:
After weeks of CHAVY CHULO trying to convince him to take up cheating ways, TKO JOE finally conceded. He used to chain outside of the referee’s view to score his team (HOSTAGE HIRSCH included) a win over the trio of RODZILLA, ZAE CARTER and JAK CALLOWAY.
HASTUR won his match against KOOL DADDI DENZELL, but only because Denzell’s new partner DRE HENDRIXX joined him and THE MOUNTAIN in a beat down during the contest. However, BEAU AMIR returned to give respect and assistance to the man he battled to a no contest a month earlier. An impromptu tag match saw Hastur and Amir earn the victory, with a post-match take down of The Mountain as a the cherry on top.
