Brand Antics Cost Bryant One Title, But Not Two
FEBRUARY 1, 2020 - Going into Battle in Bryan II, NOBE BRYANT held both titles in Lions Pride Sports. The nefarious hooligans in The Brand took one championship from him during the show, but were unable to capture the biggest prize in The Pride by night’s end.
A sold-out crowd at Harmony Science Academy in Bryan saw CHASE PARADISE, MIKE DELL and JORDAN LENNOX attack General Manager AARON PRESLEY at the show’s start. Paradise essentially took over the program, calling out Bryant and all-but-forcing the scheduled main event 360 Title match with Dell to take place then and there. With no disqualification rules in effect, Brand shenanigans helped get the strap back around Dell’s waist and ended Bryant’s 360 reign at 85 days.
Dastardly as it was, Dell’s win made him a history maker again. He could already claim the title of first Lions Pride Sports Champion, first two-time Lions Pride Sports Champion and first person to win both titles at different times. By winning the 360 belt for a second time, “One Man” also became the first man to have held each of the two titles in The Pride more than once.
Paradise had another big card to play in Bryan, as he jammed a second title defense into the night’s main event. Lennox enacted his Lions Pride Sports Championship opportunity, which he had won the previous month. While it was not a no disqualification match, Paradise and Dell were able to cause havoc around the ring for a weakened, but motivated Bryant until Presley returned from the show-opening beating. Distracted by the GM, Lennox walked into Bryant’s patented offense and took the loss. As The Brand tried to take a pound of flesh following the defeat, the locker room emptied, destroying Lennox in a flurry of signature moves and sending a message that the antics of the trio would not be tolerated.
In other action on the night:
WILL ALLDAY took on the interference of DRAKE DURDEN head on and defeated CADE CARSON in an action-packed affair. Carson and Durden would beat down Allday after the match.
In a battle of behemoths, Durden and EDGRIN STONE brawled in the ring and outside it, with both eventually being counted out. THE MOUNTAIN, recently freed from The Dark Circus’s spell, came out to help Stone against Durden and Carson. STEWY THE CANNIBAL CLOWN and THE RINGMASTER emerged to strike The Mountain, but Stone saved Mountain, leading to a dance-filled celebration in the ring.
For reasons still unknown, special referee MR. OSO attacked his best friend THOMAS CARTER and sided with CHAVY CHULO. Chulo had demanded Oso be the referee, saying he wanted to prove he could overcome stacked odds. He may have had Oso on his side the whole time.
