Nobe Gets the Gold Back

NOBE BRYANT would not be topped again by the dastardly duo of CADE CARSON and DRAKE DURDEN.

In the main event of Reboot in College Station, the unprecedented Lions Pride Sports Championship reign of the co-champs came to an end. Bryant held his own against the formidable team which had taken the title from Nobe in February.

The match came to an end because of a massive misstep by the title holders. Bryant was being held up by Durden when Carson started delivering super kicks to the challenger. Two connected with Nobe, but the third found Durden when Bryant got free. Drake was knocked back into the ropes and found his arms tied up. With Durden trapped, Bryant was able to hit his signature scissor kick to Carson and score the pin.

“The Real Deal” is now the second two-time Lions Pride Sports Champion, having previously held the title for 176 days. Carson and Durden’s unique reign concludes at 190 days, the second-longest reign in The Pride’s history.

By the looks of it, the duo won’t challenge again, though. With Durden still stuck in the ropes post-match, Carson berated and assaulted Durden, placing blame on the big man for the loss. Bryant hit the ring to clear Carson and free Durden. While Drake didn’t accept a handshake from the new champion, he clearly had Cade on his mind.

  • WILL ALLDAY was scheduled to face The Brand’s JORDAN LENNOX, but as Will was being interviewed in the ring early in the show, Lennox struck from behind, re-injuring Allday’s leg. MAX CASTELLANOS, who like Allday has broken away from The Brand, hit the ring to chase off “Cruiser Kong.” Max and Jordan would instead battle in a match later, with Will getting a last laugh. With the referee knocked out, Allday tossed his crutch to Castellanos. Lennox was struck, then hit with a Maximizer for the 1-2-3.

  • The only other man to hold the Lions Pride Sports Championship twice, MIKE DELL, topped MATHAYUS in a hotly-contested, back-and-forth opening bout between veteran and upstart. After a Dellbow and a One-Timer couldn’t get the job done, it was a counter roll-up for The Brand’s Dell that finally got the win over The Lions Den Training Facility prodigy. Mike acknowledged Mathayus’s ability as he left Smitty K’s. For Dell, it’s a third straight win in The Pride. After going undefeated for months, Mathayus now has the first losing streak of his career, albeit against two former Lions Pride Sports Champions in highly competitive bouts that earned shows of respect from the vets. Mathayus dropped a match to MOONSHINE MANTELL in March.

  • A pair of young stars out of The Lions Den made their pro wrestling debuts. High school senior ZANE VALERO had a competitive encounter with CHAVY CHULO, but interference by OSO helped Chulo his third win in his last four matches in The Pride. Meanwhile, 14-year-old MIA FRIDAY paired up with THE MOUNTAIN in an impromptu match with The Dark Circus’s STEWY THE CANNIBAL CLOWN and THE RINGMASTER. After haunting Mia and The Mountain at previous events, the fun-loving duo overcame when Friday ran up the ropes and delivered a bulldog to Stewy, followed by a big splash from the big man. Their celebration was short, though, as an incensed Valero returned to the ring and clotheslined Friday to the shock of the crowd. Was “Gen-Z” Zane upset simply because he lost, or was he violently jealous that a fellow rookie won when he didn’t?

  • With an ominous video on social media as his harbinger, THE UNKNOWN made his presence felt for the first time following the Chulo-Valero match. More menacing words from the menacing figure made clear he’s here to put plenty of pressure on The Pride’s roster.
